A Headline Is Too Big to Fit Through the Studio Door

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

The headline arrived in enormous capital letters: UNPRECEDENTED SOCK DEVELOPMENT SHOCKS ROOM.

It became wedged in the doorway.

Kit tried removing SHOCKS ROOM. The headline moved an inch.

Roo asked what had happened.

'A new pair of socks arrived.'

'Was anyone shocked?'

'The old socks seemed comfortable with it.'

They removed UNPRECEDENTED. Then DEVELOPMENT. The remaining words still looked slightly overdressed.

Finally, Kit wrote: New Socks Arrive.

The headline slipped through easily and sat on the desk. It seemed relieved.

The report lasted twelve seconds. Roo used the extra time to show the socks' cheerful stripes.

Later, the discarded capital letters gathered outside and formed a different announcement: NICE STRIPES.

Nobody objected. It was a large statement, but at least they could see the evidence.
