Baby Crawls Into Trouble, Dog Supervises Poorly
Many family dogs become deeply attached to babies and genuinely try to watch over them. The problem is that dogs are not always excellent supervisors.
Dogs often follow babies everywhere like furry security guards, carefully monitoring every crawl across the floor.
Unfortunately, their definition of “helping” can be questionable.
Parents commonly witness situations where:
- the baby crawls toward danger,
- the dog follows curiously,
- and both somehow get stuck together.
Some dogs accidentally encourage trouble by leading babies toward:
- dog toys,
- muddy shoes,
- water bowls,
- or forbidden household areas.
Others bark loudly anytime the baby cries, almost like they are reporting an emergency to the parents.
Despite their imperfect supervision skills, dogs usually become incredibly loyal companions for children. Many dogs sleep near cribs, follow toddlers protectively, and stay close to babies at all times.
Even though the dog’s babysitting qualifications may be questionable, their loyalty and love are completely genuine.
