Dot reviewed the fictional employment agreement. It listed warmth, softness, and occasional decorative folding. Flying was conspicuously absent.

The blanket wanted its job title corrected. Dot offered Textile Adventure Partner. The blanket said that sounded like more work.

A meeting was arranged with the costume department. The towel attended as legal counsel, having recently been promoted to wizard cloak without consultation.

Together they negotiated a fair schedule: blankets could participate in imaginary adventures only when the story suited them.

The blanket chose to be a mysterious mountain. This required lying still.

Dot admired the solution. The towel became a lake.

For the first time all week, the entire adventure department got some rest.
