The Championship of Looking for the Remote

The finalists entered the living room to thunderous imaginary applause. Somewhere in the stadium lay a remote control.

Captain Bo searched the sofa first, a conventional opening. His opponent checked the table, then checked it again with greater intensity.

The commentator praised their determination. Neither competitor had considered asking who used it last.

Professor Duck did exactly that.

The remote was beside the television.

The judges debated whether asking a sensible question counted as athletic performance. Bo argued that it lacked drama.

The duck was awarded gold anyway.

Bo accepted silver for Best Unnecessary Cushion Inspection. His opponent received bronze for Table Reconsideration.

During the closing ceremony, somebody misplaced the medal list. The crowd settled in for another thrilling event, and the duck asked one very efficient question.
