At last, Bea remembered organizing them.

This was much worse.

The new system sorted mysteries by emotional intensity rather than alphabet. Socks were under Devastating. Chairs were under Intriguing. The agency manual was under Optimistic.

Professor Duck found the missing folder beneath Administrative Regret.

They restored a simple alphabetical system and labeled the drawers.

Bea admitted that being clever was not always the same as being helpful.

The duck agreed.

Their next case concerned a missing label maker. Neither detective enjoyed the irony, although both recognized that the public probably would.
