The Fair-Play Committee Investigates a Head Start

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

Captain Bo began the imaginary race before the whistle because he was enthusiastic. The other competitors called this something else.

The fair-play committee reviewed the evidence. Bo admitted leaving early but argued that his intentions were excellent.

Mr. Buttons explained that intentions did not move the starting line.

Bo offered to begin the next race late. The committee suggested simply starting together.

This seemed almost too straightforward.

They tried again. Everyone heard the whistle, everyone began, and somebody other than Bo won.

Bo was disappointed for a moment, then noticed how much the winner was smiling.

He congratulated them.

The committee awarded no extra medal for this. They considered it part of participating.

Bo decided that fair play was less convenient than winning automatically, but made for a much better afternoon.
