The Spaceship Passes Inspection as a Very Nice Box

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

The galactic inspector walked around the Probably, tapping its cardboard walls.

'Excellent box,' she said.

'Spaceship,' Lulu corrected.

The inspector examined a drawn-on window. 'Bold use of blue crayon. Still a box.'

Lulu activated the imaginary engines. Stars streamed past. A comet waved.

'Exceptionally mobile box,' said the inspector.

They crossed a wormhole, visited another dimension, and returned before the inspector's tea cooled.

She checked several boxes on her form.

Lulu leaned forward. 'Now do we pass?'

'With distinction.'

The certificate read: Best Box, Large Category.

Lulu considered arguing, then noticed the prize included a gold ribbon and unlimited packing tape.

She hung the certificate on the bridge. The computer renamed their next mission Operation Technically Correct and requested a matching ribbon for itself.
