A Zombie's Calendar Contains Only Almost Friday

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

Zed's calendar had seven pages, all labeled Almost Friday. It was a very optimistic system.

On Monday, he felt encouraged. On Tuesday, he felt practically there. By Thursday, he was preparing a celebratory expression.

Friday arrived, but the calendar still said Almost Friday.

Zed complained to the stationery shop. The clerk explained that he had purchased a motivational calendar rather than an accurate one.

He exchanged it for a plain weekly planner. Suddenly, appointments happened on the expected days. This was useful but less emotionally supportive.

Zed solved the problem by writing one nice thing beside every date. Tuesday became library day. Wednesday became wave-at-the-neighbor day.

Friday was still Friday.

For the first time, though, it did not have to carry the entire week's expectations by itself.
