The Moon Has Been Returned Without a Receipt

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

A customer called Dot to report that the moon was getting smaller every night. It had been purchased as a full moon, and this was unacceptable shrinkage.

Dot asked whether the customer had tried looking again next month. The customer wanted a supervisor.

Unfortunately, the supervisor was the sun, which worked different hours.

Dot offered store credit toward one cloud. The customer said clouds were unreliable. A star was suggested, but the delivery estimate was complicated.

After twenty minutes, Dot discovered the customer had never purchased the moon at all. They had simply looked up and developed expectations.

She closed the ticket as a misunderstanding.

The customer called back to complain that the misunderstanding was also getting smaller. Dot put them on hold and watched the sunset take over the department.
