The Performance Review of a Stuffed Bear

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

Mr. Buttons arrived for his review with a year's worth of excellent sitting. He had attended every meeting, never interrupted, and survived being mistaken for a cushion.

Pip rated him Needs More Roaring.

The bear explained that he was a quiet employee. Pip nodded and wrote Leadership Opportunity.

Under strengths, Pip listed softness, reliability, and an impressive ability to remain where placed. Under weaknesses, he listed the exact same things, but in red.

Mr. Buttons asked about a promotion. Pip offered him a new title: Executive Bear. The duties and pretend salary would remain unchanged.

The bear accepted on one condition: fewer meetings.

Pip agreed enthusiastically. They would meet tomorrow to discuss the reduction.

Mr. Buttons added a private note to his own review: Has begun to understand the appeal of hibernation.
