Zed Joins the Neighborhood Watch for the Sunset

A fictional comedy from CyberBabiez. The characters and events are invented.

Zed joined the neighborhood watch because he enjoyed watching things. His first report described a lovely sunset.

The coordinator explained that they were supposed to notice unusual activity. Zed had never seen that exact sunset before, so he felt the report qualified.

The next evening he reported a cloud shaped like a teapot. Then a cat choosing a different windowsill. Then a particularly ambitious leaf.

The coordinator prepared a speech about priorities. Before delivering it, she read the reports aloud.

Everyone wanted to see the teapot cloud.

The group added a separate noticeboard for pleasant observations. It became more popular than the meeting schedule.

Zed was appointed Chief Noticer of Small Things.

He took the position seriously. His first official act was to notice that the coordinator finally looked less tired.
